Global Just Transition Dialogue - 2024
The Global Just Transition Dialogue is iFOREST’s flagship event to facilitate the exchange of ideas to develop and implement effective strategies to support a Just Transition.
A precursor to COP29, this year’s dialogue, held on October 15th, 2024 at New Delhi, saw the participation of key actors from EU, UK, US and the global south as we work towards achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement. Conversations focused on enhancing opportunities for green growth, job creation and how international cooperation can be built to strengthen climate action through financing, industrial innovation and technology investments.
The Global Just Transition Dialogue serves as a dynamic platform for government officials, policymakers, industry leaders, financial institutions, and civil society organisations to come together, share insights, and co-create solutions.
On the occasion, iFOREST also released a report Just Transition, Just Finance: Methodology and Costs for Just Energy Transition in India, a first of its kind report, which presents a methodology to calculate a Just Transition and estimates the financing India needs to enable a Just Energy Transition over a 30-year timespan.
