Senior Analyst, Sustainability Rating and Reporting Programme

The International Forum for Environment, Sustainability & Technology (iFOREST), is looking for a Senior Analyst for its Sustainability Rating and Reporting programme. As a Senior Analyst, you will play a crucial role in conducting in-depth research and analysis of companies’ environmental, social, and governance practices. You will be responsible for evaluating and rating companies based on their ESG performance, contributing to investment decision-making processes, and providing insights to stakeholders on sustainable investing.

This is a senior-level research position with a minimum 5 to 7 years of experience. The successful applicant must be proficient in sustainability/ESG rating methodologies and sustainability reporting standards.

Position will be based in Delhi NCR (Noida)

About the Programme

iFOREST’s Sustainability Rating and Reporting Program is focussed on promoting sustainability practices in Indian industry. The programme aims to build a public platform to rate the sustainability performance of Indian industry.

Qualification & Experience

Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Data Science, Sustainability, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in ESG research, sustainability consulting, or a related field.
Strong understanding of ESG issues, trends, and regulatory frameworks.
Proficient in ESG/ sustainability rating methodologies and sustainability reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets.
Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying ESG insights to diverse audiences.
Proficient in using ESG research databases and analytical tools.
Ability to prepare technical reports
Experience of engagement with industry partners, government agencies.
Self-motivated with strong organizational and project management skills.

Desired Qualifications

CFA, CESGA, or similar certifications related to ESG or sustainability.
Experience in financial analysis or investment management with a focus on ESG integration.
Experience of working with a Credit Rating Agency will be added advantage.

Responsibilities

Research & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on companies’ sustainability practices using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Evaluate companies across various sectors and geographies for their sustainability performance.
Rating & Reporting: Develop and maintain sustainability ratings for companies, ensuring they reflect the latest sustainability/ ESG standards and methodologies. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate sustainability ratings and insights to internal and external stakeholders.
Data Management: Collect, validate, and manage sustainability data from various sources. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of sustainability data used in analysis and reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with investors, companies, and other stakeholders to gather insights and feedback on sustainability issues. Participate in meetings and conferences to stay informed of the latest sustainability/ ESG trends and regulations.
Team development: Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of the sustainability research team.
