Odisha Vikash Conclave
The sixth edition of the Odisha Vikash Conclave opened with a strong call for climate-resilient and people-centric development. A key highlight of the event was the launch of the Odisha Climate Change and Just Transition Forum—a first-of-its-kind civil society–led initiative jointly announced by iFOREST, CYSD, and partner organisations. The platform aims to strengthen collaboration among civil society, communities, experts, and institutions to accelerate Odisha’s transition toward a low-carbon and climate-resilient future.
Senior government leaders emphasised the need for inclusive transition strategies, with commitments including a dedicated Transition Fund and a comprehensive Energy Transition Policy to support communities and workers. Throughout the Conclave, speakers reinforced that climate action must centre people, livelihoods, and equitable growth.
iFOREST also released a flagship study—Building Odisha’s Green Workforce—highlighting the state’s growing demand for skilled workers in emerging green sectors and outlining a roadmap to bridge existing skilling gaps. The event further featured high-engagement sessions focused on just transitions, green workforce integration, and regenerative livelihoods.
