Solid Waste Management
Overview
Our solid waste management programme focuses on building resilient and inclusive waste management systems in states such as Assam, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
We support Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in moving from ad-hoc practices to structured, data-driven, and participatory systems. Our waste inventorisation and third-party audit tools provide cities with the insights needed to design effective segregation, recycling, and disposal strategies. We also provide hands-on support, develop waste management plans, and conduct techno-economic studies under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban and Rural).
Our training and capacity-building programs on tools, techniques, and technologies (3T) empower local bodies, pollution control boards, healthcare professionals, and waste management practitioners to adopt solutions that safeguard public health and the environment.
We also strengthen biomedical waste management in small healthcare facilities. In Assam, our work has shown that even resource-constrained healthcare centers can adopt simple, low-cost practices to manage waste safely – safeguarding public health and the environment.
