Rural resilience
Overview
iFOREST’s Rural Resilience Programme seeks to strengthen the ecological, economic, and social foundations of rural communities in the face of climate change. It focuses on sustainable agriculture, climate adaptation, and the development of carbon-positive villages to build climate-resilient and environmentally sustainable rural communities. The programme also enables villages to generate carbon credits through nature-based and low-carbon interventions.
To translate evidence into action, the programme undertakes rigorous research, implements on-ground pilot projects, and supports policy development. It works closely with state and local governments to design scalable policies, programmes, and implementation frameworks that can be replicated across regions.
