Ratnagiri District Development cum Climate Action Plan – Stakeholder meeting and Report release
The Ratnagiri District Development–cum–Climate Action Plan was formally released at a district-level convening in Ratnagiri on 24 February, bringing together senior officials from the district administration, line departments, and representatives from the Environment and Climate Change Department, Government of Maharashtra, along with technical experts and local stakeholders. The event marked a significant milestone for the district.
As the first integrated Development–cum–Climate Action Plan prepared for Ratnagiri, the plan brings development priorities and climate action onto a single platform rather than addressing them in isolation. The discussions underscored the importance of embedding climate resilience, low-carbon growth, and ecosystem management directly within the district’s core development agenda. The release of the Plan reflects a shared commitment to move beyond sectoral silos and advance a coordinated, implementation-focused approach to building a resilient and economically strong Ratnagiri.
