On December 18, 2025 iFOREST hosted a roundtable on ‘Accelerating Solar Deployment on Water Bodies in Assam’ in Guwahati, bringing together AEDA, APGCL, IIT Guwahati, the Department of Fisheries, SIDBI, TERI, WRI, Guwahati University, and other experts. Discussions highlighted the potential of decentralised, livelihood-linked floating solar, calling for clear guidelines, faster approvals, and innovative finance to transform Assam’s water bodies into drivers of clean energy and climate resilience.
