Effective climate and environmental action depend on strong laws, institutions, and governance. iFOREST works to build the laws, institutions, and capacity India needs to turn climate and environmental policy into action.
Through our Climate Governance programme, we support state- and district-level climate action plans that link mitigation, adaptation, and resilience with local development goals. We also engage internationally, promoting equitable and ambitious climate agreements, and advancing finance, technology, and capacity-building frameworks that support India and the Global South in a just and climate-resilient transition.
Through our programme on Environmental Governance, we reform laws and strengthen institutions to manage pollution and natural resources. The iFOREST Academy institutionalises skill development for regulators, while industry partnerships focus on compliance, regulatory innovation, cleaner technologies, and monitoring of air and water emissions. Green skilling initiatives expand the workforce for a sustainable and just economic transition.
